Google Analytics - New features
At the summit this year Google announced up to 50 updates for Google Analytics. A range of 'improvements' have been made to the service to allow for ease of use from smaller bloggers to larger companies and give them the opportunity to improve the service they provide on their site.
Programmes have been introduced to analytics that were previously only available to those who were willing to spend big bucks. Although it is argued that each update will effect different people differently , there is no doubt that they will benefit everyone who uses Google Analytics.
One of the key updates to almost every one who uses analytics, but most significantly the small business or blogger, is the improved educational content. This adds walkthrough videos to essentially tool itself, meaning more information is available to users allowing them to get the most out of the service.
Marketers will love the new view through reporting, as well as being aided by new ABO reports and agencies lives will be made easier with configuration work via API.
But what is the most significant new feature to Google Analytics?
After experts have looked into all features it seemed as though they agreed on one significant update from most users point of view and this was the Demographic Reports. This is the kind of thing, as discussed earlier, that companies pay thousands for and it opens up a world of opportunities to every user.
It gives new data to every website and allows them to segment their demographics, giving you a rough insight into the make up of your customers or viewers. Marketers can use this to aim their product at specific segments, whilst the smaller sites can see where and to whom their content is most appealing to and tailor their content to suite.
